Why is my cat eating Walter's Viburnum?

My cat has been gnawing on our walter's viburnum until its nothing. He chewed it up once and then moved the limbs so we wouldn't know. Is there any sort of catnip in walter's viburnum? Anything that attracts cats? Thanks,,,,,,,
