Has Hurricane Katrina changed the personalities and attitudes of the people in the affected states?

Katrina killed many... but as for those who did survive, have their personalities and attitudes (especially towards other people) changed? If so, how? I'm talking about people from Louisiana (mainly), Florida, and the other affected states.
